This Privacy Policy explains how Altum Ventures, LLC (“Altum Ventures,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and retains information in connection with the Proto Fitness mobile application, companion watch app, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Account information - email address, password (stored hashed), and any display name or profile details you provide.
  • Fitness and activity data - workouts, exercises, sets, weights, reps, effort/readiness inputs, program selections, notes, and other content you enter or generate through the Service.
  • Device and usage data - device model, operating system, app version, identifiers, log data, diagnostics, crash reports, and how you interact with features.
  • Location (optional) - if you grant permission, approximate location used to tag training locations. You can disable this at any time in device settings.

We do not knowingly collect data from children (see Section 8).

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, maintain, and secure the Service;
  • Personalize your training programs, progression, and recommendations;
  • Communicate with you about the Service, including updates and support;
  • Monitor, analyze, and improve performance, reliability, and features;
  • Develop new products, features, and services; and
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

3. Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning

We use the data and content you provide or generate through the Service - including your account, fitness, activity, usage, and diagnostic data - to research, develop, train, evaluate, fine-tune, and improve algorithms, models, features, products, and services, including machine-learning and artificial-intelligence models.

This may include using your data in identifiable, pseudonymized, aggregated, or de-identified form to train and improve models that power current and future Altum Ventures products and services. Where we use de-identified or aggregated data, we will not attempt to re-identify it except as permitted by law.

By using the Service, you consent to these uses. Where required by applicable law, you may have the right to object to or restrict certain processing - see Section 7.

4. How We Share Information

We may share information:

  • With service providers who process data on our behalf (e.g., cloud hosting, storage, analytics, crash reporting) under obligations of confidentiality and only to provide services to us;
  • In aggregated or de-identified form that does not identify you, for any purpose, including research, analytics, benchmarking, and product development;
  • For legal reasons - to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, or protect the rights, safety, and property of Altum Ventures, our users, or others; and
  • In a business transfer - in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

We do not sell your personal information for money. Some data uses may be considered “sharing” or “sale” under certain state laws; see Section 7 for your choices.

5. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active and for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, pursue our legitimate business interests (including product and model development), comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. De-identified and aggregated data may be retained indefinitely.

6. Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit, hashed credentials, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Choices and Rights

  • Access and deletion. You can delete your account and associated data at any time from within the app. On deletion, we remove or de-identify your personal data, except where retention is required or permitted by law (note: previously de-identified or aggregated data is not reversible and may be retained).
  • Regional rights. Depending on where you live (e.g., the EEA, UK, or California), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, or object to or restrict certain processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address in Section 10. We will respond as required by applicable law.
  • Location and notifications. You can control location and notification permissions in your device settings.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from, children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

9. International Data Transfers

We operate the Service from, and may process and store data in, the United States and other countries. By using the Service, you understand your information may be transferred to and processed in countries whose data-protection laws differ from those of your country.
